GAH Annual Meeting 2024 - Call for Proposals
Georgia Association of Historians Annual Meeting: February 16-18, 2024
Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, GA
The Georgia Association of Historians invites proposals from professional historians and current graduate students of history for its February 2024 annual conference, in Kennesaw, Georgia. We welcome submissions pertaining to all areas and subfields of history, preservation, and pedagogy. We also encourage innovative session formats such as roundtables and moderated discussions as well as traditional paper sessions. Proposals for full sessions are encouraged, but not required. We also welcome interested undergraduates to submit proposals for posters to be displayed at the meeting. Accepted papers may be submitted for consideration to the peer-reviewed Journal of the Georgia Association of Historians, though conference acceptance does not guarantee journal publication. The deadline for proposal submission is November 1, 2023. Notification of a proposal’s acceptance will occur in mid-November 2023.
Accepted papers will be due to the chairs/commentators (see below) by February 5, 2024. Papers must be original works of scholarship. Due to time limitations, individual papers will be limited to 15-20 minutes. Roundtables should be structured to fit a ninety-minute time slot. (While presenters must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in hand at the time the proposal is submitted, undergraduates may submit posters.)
All submissions should be sent using Google Forms: https://forms.gle/5e4abmexAPAAeQWt5
Chairs/Commentators: Scholars interested in serving as chair/commentator should contact the co-Program Chair, Glenn Robins, at: [email protected]. Please include a brief description of your field/areas of expertise along with a one-page cv.
Please contact Andrew Goss, co-Program Chair, with any other questions, at: [email protected]
